Member's Bio
Fred Vencill - Founder
Fred has immersed himself in the world of music since his earliest memories. He taught himself to play by plunking out melodies on the family's "baby grand" piano at the age of 5. His musical journey continued with the violin in 4th grade, drums from 5th grade through high school, and picking up the guitar in middle school. Despite being a club and college swimmer, music remained a cherished hobby, though it took a back seat to athletics.
After marrying in 1981, Fred extended his musical contributions by playing both guitar and bass for numerous local churches, assuming the role of a worship leader. In the late 1980s, he delved into band experiences that have endured to this day. Fred's dedication to his craft culminated in the production of an 11-song CD in 2008, featuring original "blues rock" material, followed by a second 4-song CD in 2018. Currently, Fred is working on four more songs slated for production.
As the driving force behind TREB, Fred feels blessed to collaborate with a group of talented musicians and good-hearted individuals.
Camille Otillio;
lead and harmony vocals
Growing up, the daughter of a jazz singer mother, and piano playing father, Camille has grown up with a wealth of musical inspiration- everything from the Jazz Greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James, to the rock acts such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, alongside almost everything else in between.
She's always been a singer at heart, but her first love was piano, after she was denied singing lessons until she learned the piano. She dedicated herself to classical piano, dreaming of being a concert pianist. But, 1 years of piano lessons isn't enough to prepare you for singing lessons. Instead she would patiently wait to be home alone so she could belt out her favorite tunes... or the car, or slow day at work, or anywhere else she thought nobody could hear her.
It wasn't until college that Camille "found her voice, beginning to sing with others, collaborating musically, participating in jams, improvising music, etc. Shortly after, Camille joined a vocal jazz ensemble where she discovered a surprising love for the stage and sharing music with others.
She now finds herself singing lead for The Ripple Effect Band and finally fulfilling her middle school/high school dreams of singing with a rock band.
Sabrina Pena
(drums)
Sabrina Peña is a Native American and a native of San Diego. Her parents moved off the Reservation for educational opportunities in the city. She started with trumpet at the age of 8 and picked up the drums and piano in high school. She auditioned and was selected to play in the US Army band “Pershing's Own”in Washington D.C. After, she enrolled at San Diego State University majoring in music, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.
She packed her bags and moved to North Hollywood California catching the "Night Club Fever". She formed a six piece group, signed with a booking agent and went on the road to play the entire west coast to Alaska, and the Midwest. Connecting with the Shirelles, an all girl vocal group at Filthy McNasty's in Hollywood, Sabrina landed in Las Vegas for a three month run.
After a fulfilling five years on the road, Sabrina returned to San Diego. Marriage and children became her focus and she went to work at SDG&E. She went back to school, completing both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Management. She continued to play at every opportunity and once the children were out and about, she again made some connections locally, formed an “Old School R&B” group and played every Casino in San Diego County.
Sabrina is an exceptional Country, Blues, Classic Rock, 80's rock, Yacht Rock, and Cumbia Latin drummer, providing such for many local bands. Sabrina stepped into “The Ripple Effect Band” in the spring of 2026 providing the backbeat driving the band forward.
